74th Republic Day
On the occasion of the 74th Republic Day, a cultural and patriotic program was organized at South West Convent, Sonegaon, along with the flag-hoisting ceremony. The event began with the presence of Sudhanshu Shekhar, Roshni Singh, and institution director Meshram, along with Principal Seema Sontakke.
The flag was hoisted in their presence. Addressing the gathering, the chief guests emphasized that special attention should be given to guiding children, and that this responsibility lies not only with the teachers but also with the parents. They encouraged everyone to stay dedicated to the nation and maintain professionalism in their duties.
Students displayed their talents through a variety of outstanding performances. Successful students were honored with awards during the ceremony.

Explaining the importance of environmental balance and greenery, the children of Bal Gopala spread the message of environmental awareness at South West Convent, Sonegaon. Actively participating in the event, the children not only dressed up as trees but also created beautiful green-themed graphics and prepared various projects. They also shared their thoughts and suggestions on the “Green Revolution.”
On this occasion, parents planted saplings and expressed their views on the importance of trees. All the children, parents, and teachers wore green attire and took a pledge to increase greenery in their surroundings.
Principal Seema Sontakke highlighted the importance of greenery and spoke about the effects of decreasing greenery on life and the environment. She encouraged everyone to plant trees at home, in courtyards, neighborhoods, and workplaces. She emphasized that the green color symbolizes prosperity and freshness. Planting trees is essential for protecting the environment, and preserving greenery is the responsibility of every individual.
Jyoti Pohane, Varsha, Shashank, along with many teachers and parents, were present at the event.
